Slicing is not a Crew Skill that is required for crafting.
Slicing is the ability to access secure computer systems and lockboxes to acquire valuable items, credits and rare tech schematics. These can be attained from electronic safes, date stations, security mainframes and biometric footlockers.
You will find that you may attain schematics used to create the Cybertech Crew Skill gadgets, vehicles, space upgrades and mission discovery objects that unlock challenging missions which can potentially gain amazing rewards.
This Crew Skill is also the only source of gaining Augments, which is a slot that fits in your gear.
Slicing also sometimes allows parties to take different paths in flashpoints (instances) e.g. slicing open a door.
This Crew Skill is complimentary with all other Crew Skills but you can gain Cybertech Schematics from it so we only suggest Cybertech as the complimentary Crew Skill.
